In association with the City of Lincolnton NC
The 2022 Western Carolinas Homebrewers Festival, put on by the Lincolnton Brewers’ Club, in collaboration with Communities in Schools of Lincoln County, is looking to hold The Western Carolina Homebrew Festival event April 30th , 2022 at Untapped Territory in Lincolnton, NC. This Festival is the first "OPEN TO THE PUBLIC” Homebrewer Festival ever in North Carolina! Previously, these type festivals were private, and exclusive only to dues paying members of Brew Clubs. In 2019, North Carolina officially passed legislature that now allows non-members to Home Brew events!
Through this event we are inviting Homebrew clubs from Charlotte to the western border of North Carolina, as well as the Upstate area of South Carolina. We want to invite people to this ticketed event to support not just the clubs, but also help support fundraising for a great cause in our community that has ties to members of our club. We plan to hold it in the exterior courtyard area in the back of Untapped Territory and will have a gated one-way entrance/ check in table, as well as an exit only gateway that will lead out to a local vendor area for festival goers to purchase homebrew equipment, if they feel inspired to start their own journey into homebrewing, if they haven’t already, or pick up some new equipment and supplies if they have. In the festival area, different clubs will be demonstrating different aspects of the homebrew process, as well as different techniques. We have all three native breweries of Lincoln County participating as vendors, who will offer a special “festival exclusive” brew. All vendors will be outside of the homebrew area of the festival, commercial brewers as well as equipment vendors. There will also be live bands and Food Trucks! Come join in for an afternoon of fun!
While we love our pets and kids, this environment is not suited for them, so we ask for only those 21 and up join for the festivities.

FAQs
-
While we do love our fur babies as much as the next person, this environment is not well suited to bring them to, so please let them relax at home while you come and enjoy the festivities.
-
Yes, you must be 21 or older to enter into the festival. ID’s will be verified at check-in. With this being said, this is not a child appropriate event.
-
We do both! We will have our Square portal setup so you can get all the Festival Swag you want. We will take cash as well, but ask that you try to bring exact change, as we are not guaranteed to be able to handle large bills or large amounts of change back. It will be limited. However, we are located right next to a Bank of America you can easily walk next door to get change.
-
There is some street parking on Water Street, however we are encouraging guests to part at Gaston College a block over and walk over. We are in the process of setting up a golf cart shuttle service to and from the lot to make things easier.
-
We have links listed on the WCHF homepage that connect you to the Hampton Inn and Quality Inn booking sites and have a discount code for festival goers. Call or book online.
-
If you go to the Club Signup Page where your club registered, you should see a button for beer entries. Click it and select your club from the menu and enter in your beer details before hitting submit. Repeat the process for your other entries.

This festival is about a few things. It is a fundraising event for Communities in Schools of Lincoln County. It is also about club promotion. We want people who already brew at home, but aren’t part of a club, or people who are curious about starting to home brew, to come out and get inspired to start and join their club nearest to them!
-
First off, what is better than a whole weekend of brews and buds?! We are planning on having a meet and greet style “Brews around the Bonfire” Friday evening so various club members can meet and talk brews. We also have our Special Guest, Scott Jennings, the Head Brewmaster from Sierra Nevada in Mills River coming to do a special pow-wow just with club members. Bring your questions and bring your excitement!
-
Absolutely! We encourage it actually. We have a separate area at Gaston College, in their parking lot, that will be used for those camping.
-
Sure can. We are in the process of having a grass area for tent campers, however even if that can’t be secured, camping in the parking lot is possible too. We would just encourage you to bring some items to make things a bit more comfortable. A raised camping cot, air mattress, or sleeping pad, would be highly recommended.
-
Yes! Goober Ridez to and from the sponsoring hotels to the festival as well as the overflow parking area at Gaston College.
-
Yes! Gaston College has kindly allowed us use of their bathrooms.
-
There will be a check in table in the Courtyard Area. Please find your way over to it to get your club’s check-in packet. Please have all member ID’s who are attending with you and ready to be to be checked. Once checked in, you will get shown to your club’s designated setup area where you can begin to unload. If you need help unloading, we will be happy to lend a hand, just ask!
-
We ask a minimum of 5 Gallons of each beer entry be brought. More is encouraged and welcome though. The reason we say this is we plan to sell out of our 750 tickets to this festival. However, we have both a Club Judge and a Crowd Favorite vote going on. We want to be sure all event goers can have a 2 oz sampling of your brews, but also that club members can have a taste to cast their own votes too.
-
-Yep. With the number of clubs AND the number of beers each club is bringing, this ensures everyone can enjoy without overdoing it.
-
With your ticket you get access to the festival area with a wristband, access to demos, a taster glass to enjoy some yummy home brew samples, a taster card with a list of all festival beers, a pencil to mark your taster card with notes about each beer if you wish, and most importantly your VOTING BALLOT! At the end of your home brew sampling, write your favorite brew on the card and cast it in the basket on your way out the exit area of the home brew tents. Top 3 winners will be announced at 8pm to see who the big prizes go to!
-
Not at all. We have a plan! The reason we asked that at least 3-4 members come to the event to pour, is so they can pour in shifts. Once you are done with your pouring shift, you can take your tasting card and Voting Ballot and enjoy!
-
Of course you can! We want as many members there as possible! However, due to making sure costs are covered, and of course our goal is to raise as much money as possible for Communities in Schools programs. We do ask that you purchase a ticket to help the cause. However, to ensure you get the right wristband and in the right category with the brewers, in the Event Ticket page please check that you are a brewer and we will categorize you correctly.
-
Yes, please make sure they purchase a ticket for this event, unless they are acting as an honorary member and helping pour for the event. Again, it helps to cover costs, as well as adds to the fundraising goal for Communities in Schools to help the at risk kids of Lincoln County.
-
Talk to the clubs about joining! They are great mentors and will help save you a lot of heartache getting your first few home brews under your belt. Also, stop by the Homebrew Supply Vendors area. They can get you started with what you need for your first brew.
-
Each color represents different ticket types. Blue is for Brewers or Volunteers. Green is for Festival Guests. Red is for Designated Drivers. This makes it easy for us to know who is allowed where.
-
While making sure loved ones make it home safe, we feel like you should be able to enjoy just as much. With your ticket you get a Free Entrée Voucher to use at the food trucks, and we are offering free non-alcoholic drinks during your time at the festival.
-
Click the Volunteer Signup button on the WCHF page and fill out your info. We would love to have your help!

All donations can be made through our donations link on the WCHF page. If you are a company donating, please email your logo to info@lincolntonbrewersclub.com for use on our donor banner at the festival, as well as on our website.
